It’s an itch some have been waiting six weeks to scratch.
“I couldn’t sleep last night, I was too excited, thinking about coming up here today,” said Anders Arnie from Auburn.
Boreal Mountain Ski Resort welcomed about eight new inches of snow by 10 a.m. Thursday, bringing its base to about 35 inches, with about two-thirds of that man made snow.
“We needed this,” said Tucker Norred with Boreal’s marketing team.
The resort opened about 9 a.m. Thursday and within minutes, about 15 skiers and boarders were shredding the new powder on the four open runs.
Norred says the resort will have extra staff ready this weekend for what’s expected to be a busy weekend with more snow to come
