CHULA VISTA (FOX5SanDiego)-
A Southern California fire chief says law enforcement has yet to explain why they handcuffed and detained a firefighter as he was responding to injured people at an accident scene.
The accident happened Tuesday night in Chula Vista. The unidentified Chula Vista firefighter was handcuffed and placed in the back of a CHP car at the accident scene.
CHP says they repeated ordered the firefighter to move his truck, which was parked in the center divider along I-805.
A car had rolled over on the freeway, and there were injuries.
The firefighter was detained for about 30 minutes in the CHP car before being released.
A CHP dispatcher said the matter was under investigation and she could not comment.
