The snow fell all day in Sierra and when the snow falls, the bell rings at the Truckee Hotel with tourists wanting a room, a warm meal and a place to ski.
“We are talking an 80 percent increase in profits,” said Bill Haley with General Manager of the Truckee Hotel.
In Truckee this week, snow has been all people can talk about. It’s the first time this season they are looking at a good dumping of snow for several days in a row.
Haley says he and his staff are staying positive.
The possibility of better skiing has brought more people to the area.
“I can tell it’s going to be good because we went up to Squaw Valley and noticed two thirds of the runs were closed. Everybody’s talking snow, they want to have some snow,” Tom Gammon, a tourist from South Carolina said.
