Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva is usually the face of the police department when FOX40 reports on police-related incidents.
But on Valentine’s Day night, Silva became the story himself.
It happened when he was off-duty with his wife and five-year-old son, in a crowded Arroyo’s Restaurant on March Lane, where one couple got into an argument with a some guys near the bar.
Silva made his way to the bar after hearing the fight and seeing the man armed with the gun.
There were about 200 patrons inside at the time, many who dove for cover while others ran out in panic.
Officers arrested 46-year-old Ruben Acosta for assault with a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police said the firearm was cocked back with one bullet in the chamber.
