Behind a Fairfield apartment complex, 16-year-old Naomy Rojas was shot and left for dead Saturday morning. Now, police and family have more questions than answers.
“If she can explain it to me, I am going to keep waiting the rest of my life,” Cuco Rojas, Naomy’s father, told FOX40.
Cuco Rojas doesn’t understand why someone would kill his daughter. She was apparently out with friends the night she died. Rojas’ family and police believe it as someone she was hanging out with that killed her.
“That is like a mafia-style, the way that she got killed. That doesn’t make any sense to me,” Cuco Rojas said.
He says his daughter was shot in the back of the head. She was found near a wall and railroad tracks behind an apartment complex on Phoenix Drive early Saturday morning.
“And they just left her there, like what kind of friends are those? They aren’t real friends and there were people there. I don’t understand why nobody is speaking,” Naomy’s brother, Juan, said. “Please speak out. Please, we just want justice.”
A vigil was left by family and friends to remember Naomy. In it, signs of a life her family says she was working hard to escape from.
“She is very smart. She just hung out with the wrong people because before all this happened, she was a straight-A student and then she got mixed up with them and then it was just downhill from there and she was trying to change her life back,” Juan Rojas said.
If you have any information on Namoy’s death you are urged to call Fairfield Police.
