Gov. Brown to Announce Emergency Drought Legislation
Governor Jerry Brown will announce emergency drought legislation Wednesday.
A few weeks ago, Governor Brown officially declared a drought state of emergency for California. He ordered state departments to make water conservation plans and worked with water districts to raise awareness with customers.
Just last week, President Barack Obama visited central and southern California to tour farms and talk to state officials about the availability of federal support for drought relief.
Brown will be joined by Assembly Speaker John Perez and Senate pro Tem Darrell Steinberg at Wednesday’s announcement.
