Crews worked hard to clean up a valuable product from the roadway near Nevada City Thursday morning, after the driver had to swerve to avoid a deer.
The truck was carrying 500 bales of hay. The driver was able to keep the truck upright, but a lot of the hay flew off.
CalTrans sent several people to the scene along Highway 20 to clean it up.
The organic hay is extremely valuable this year because of the drought. Also, with a lot of hay sitting along the roadway, deer from the surrounding area would come for a snack, posing potential problems for other drivers.
