The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning Wednesday evening for parts of Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Sutter counties.
Several funnel clouds were between Pleasant Grove and Rocklin shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Weather experts say the best practice during a tornado is to hide in a basement or under a sturdy piece of furniture – and stay away from windows.
The warnings were eventually canceled around 7:20 p.m.
Employees and shoppers at a Roseville RC Willey furniture store were told to shelter in place.
