The NFL will celebrate the Super Bowl’s golden anniversary game in 2016 at the new, yet-to-open Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Friday morning the National Football League announced Super Bowl L will be played in Santa Clara on February 7, 2016.
In addition to the actual game, the week leading up to Super Bowl L will include public events and celebrations in San Francisco and around the Bay Area.
“Now the entire region can circle the date on our calendars and work together to produce a spectacular, efficient and safe Super Bowl experience,” Keith Bruce, CEO of the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl Host Committee, said.
Levi’s Stadium is slated to open for its first event on August 2 for an MLS game between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Seattle Sounders FC.
