NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the organization for life in response to alleged racist comments he made about black people. Silver’s punishment, including a $2.5 million fine, has been praised by anti-discrimination organizations and advocates, including Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. But is the punishment the right one?
