Search and recovery efforts for the missing men from Saturday’s boat accident continued Sunday morning, according to State Park police.
At around 2 p.m. on Saturday, California State Parks received a call about a capsized boat in Folsom Lake. Rangers found the boat, described as a 35′ to 40′ speed boat, but its passengers were nowhere to be found.
The search stopped Saturday evening once the sun set and they resumed at first light. Several police agencies conducted the search throughout Sunday morning, but due to high winds and low visibility, the search was stopped at 1:30 p.m.
Initial eye witnesses of the boat said there were 3 people on the boat, but search crews now know there were 4 men that are still missing. Their names are Toby Strauch, 54, James Strauch, 47, Jake Jacobs, 53, and Jon Smith, 48. All of them are from the Sacramento area.
The search efforts will resume Monday morning.
