Johnny Perez was diagnosed with lymphoma just two weeks ago.
“I just couldn’t believe it. What else could go wrong?” Perez, 43, told FOX40. “You’re not supposed to ask why, just roll with the punches.”
But this punch hurt deep.
While at Kaiser Hospital on Bruceville Road in south Sacramento with his wife Angelica for their first class on chemotherapy, they returned to their SUV to go back home.
Sometime while in the 2-hour class, someone ripped the catalytic converter from right under the truck.
“I can’t believe you took it. It’s heartbreaking. It’s our only vehicle,” Angelica Perez said.
Johnny, who’s the sole breadwinner for their family of eight, recently went back to work for two weeks, after being out of work since last November.
UPDATE: After watching FOX40’s report, A1 Express Muffler has offered to give Perez a free muffler to repair his SUV.
