SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY-
Pigs snorting, turkey’s making themselves known, and other live stock being brushed and walked and postured. It’s all part of the the festival that almost wasn’t.
Six month ago the San Joaquin county fair was cancelled, a stunning blow to those in the agriculture community.
So members of the 4H family and future farmers of America pulled up their bootstraps a decided to fund and create their own event. Practically everything is sponsored, but the event lives on. Hard work and dedication paid off.
The fair is held at the same location, at the San Joaquin Fairgrounds, from June 17 to June 21.
One exchange student even postponed his flight so he could show two pigs, something he says would not have been possible without everyone pitching in.
