A Granite Bay High School student achieved a rare perfect score of 2400 on this year’s SAT.

“I was hoping I’d get a good score,” said 16-year-old Maadhav Shah in a Monday conversation with FOX40.  But seeing a perfect score caused him to double check his name on the results page.  “I was really happy once I found out I got 2400.”

Maadhav said he studied hard for several weeks to prepare for the test.  And studying is something he enjoys.  As FOX40 recently reported, he earned three associates degrees from American River College while still a junior in high school.

To put the SAT achievement into perspective: last year only 0.03% of SAT test takers earned a perfect score.  That was 494 students out of 1,660,047.

Maddhav is looking forward to applying to four-year universities, and achieving a degree in engineering.  He is especially interested in robotics.  He said he looks forward to making “a contribution to this community…something that’ll be lasting.”
