WOODLAND-

A woman tried to make off with the dough, but ended up crashing in a ditch along I-5 in Sacramento.

Monday night, a woman “had words” with the driver of a semi truck parked at a Carl’s Jr. in Woodland according to witnesses. She then jumped in the open truck door and took off.

The truck was filled with buns for the fast food restaurant. The baked goods flew out of the back of the truck as the woman took off, leading responding officers on a chase down the highway.

It’s not known whether the woman had experience driving a truck.

“With truck and trailer you have 2 separate brakes you have to release. So, she might have experience, she might not. Going out of the corner there, I would say no, because she clipped the corner,” Randy Sizemore told FOX40. He watched as the woman took off in the bun truck, and lost dozens as she drove off.

After more than ten miles, CHP officers used a spike strip along I-5 near the Sacramento Airport to slow down the stolen truck. The suspect driver then crashed the bun truck into the ditch.
