A suspect running from police jumps into, what he believes to be, the perfect hiding spot; under a house.
James Marglin, 44, was being chased Tuesday morning after officers say he was driving a stolen car.
After a short police chase, Marglin apparently had some kind of car trouble, and decided to run off into a neighborhood.
A K-9 officer tracked him to under a home, where Marglin struggled with the dog.
The homeowner, Michael Harguth, rushed home from work after receiving an anxious call from his wife. Officers struggled for about an hour to free Marglin.
Antioch Police dug a trench, then used a rope to pull Marglin out.
“Very nice to know they didn’t do anything but kick out three fence boards,” Harguth said.
Marglin was hosed off before being medically checked out and taken to a hospital for treatment. He has been booked into jail Tuesday afternoon.
