Beyond the Border: Encouraging Students to Study in Mexico

Governor Jerry Brown and education leaders are trying to change the perception of Mexico, and encourage Californian students to study abroad in Mexico.

Casa de la Universidad is an oasis in Mexico City. Security Guards are a constant presence, for peace of mind, and enrollment has dropped 90% in the last eight years.

Parents in the U.S. hear about the cartels, kidnappings, killings and the drug war, and they worry about their students.

Governor Brown wants to see more Californian students study abroad, and would like a system where credits from Mexican universities can transfer to California schools.
