After millions spent in renovations for Sacramento International Airport’s Terminal B, airport officials say Terminal A will see upgrades of its own, giving travelers through a taste of the city.

Friday, the airport will begin an eight-month remodeling project to welcome six new restaurants by next spring, to the tune of $3 million. Among newly-arriving restaurants include local favorites Paesanos, Squeeze Inn and another only-in-Sacramento spot not yet named.

The list of Sacramento-centric vendors at Sac International continues to pile up, with local favorites Jack’s Urban Eats, Dos Coyotes, Cafeteria 15L, Old Soul Coffee and Burgers & Brew already solid pillars in the airport’s Terminal B food court. Officials aim to give travelers coming through Terminal A a similar experience, and more local vendors to choose from.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and hope customer impact is minimal,” Sac County Director of Airports John Wheat said in a news release. “We think the new layout and new restaurants will be worth the wait.”

Terminal A is the service gate for Delta, United Airlines, United Express, US Airways and JetBlue. During construction, the terminal will hold four temporary vendors, including a Peet’s Coffee and Tea, and Sacramento Sports Bar.

Wine lounge Vino Volo and retail shops Travel Mart, In Motion, Capitol Marketplace, Details and Forever Silver are not impacted by construction and will remain open.
