A man is in the hospital, after being shot by a CHP officer along I-5.
Late Monday night, two motorcyclists and a driver were parked on the shoulder of I-5 near Woodland.
A CHP officer pulled behind them to see what was going on. Officers say the two motorcyclists drove off leaving the car behind.
The officers on scene suspected the driver was under the influence, and according to investigators, the situation became confrontational.
When an officer went to handcuff the driver, the driver reportedly pulled out a gun. The officers on scene opened fire.
The driver was flown to a nearby hospital, and is being treated. No word at this time on his injuries.
