ANTELOPE-

A man is in custody after leading Sheriff’s deputies on a chase that prompted an Antelope school to be put on lockdown.

The Sheriff’s Department said deputies tried to pull a man over Thursday afternoon. When he didn’t stop, he reportedly led deputies on a chase that ended near Ridgepoint Elementary.

The school was put on lockdown for a short time while deputies set up a perimeter.

The man was ultimately found hiding in the attic of a home, deputies said, and taken into custody. Deputies said he had a loaded gun and heroin on him.
