Amgen Tour of California 2015: Men, Women Riders Coming to Sacramento
The tenth annual Amgen Tour of California will kick off in Sacramento next year, and spend the second day racing through the Valley.
In addition, the women’s race stages will be focused at Lake Tahoe.
The week-long race started in Sacramento in May 2014, with time trials in Folsom.
In 2015, the popular bike race will start in Sacramento on May 10. The second stage of the race will take riders from Nevada City to Lodi.
Next year’s event will be the first to include a three-day professional women’s cycling race, from May 8-10. The women’s race will spend two days around Lake Tahoe, then stage three in Sacramento before the riders head south to join the men for a time trial.
The 2015 Amgen Tour of California is the 10th Anniversary for the professional cycling event. In addition to Sacramento, the host cities are Nevada City, Lodi, San Jose, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, Santa Barbara, Santa Clarita, Big Bear Lake, Ontario, Mt. Baldy, LA LIVE in downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena.
Of the above list, only San Jose has been a host city all ten years of the tour.
