Rio Linda Home Invasion Ends in Arrest

A man is under arrest after Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies zeroed in on a suspect who allegedly tried to break into an elderly man’s home off Q and 7th Streets in Rio Linda. The victim tells FOX40 that the suspect tried to break into his home on more than one occasion in the past 12 hours.

Ken Wilkinson says this all started yesterday around 7 a.m. when the 24-year-old suspect crawled through his doggy door and attacked him. During that time the suspect was able to steal Wilkinson’s car keys before taking off in his vehicle.

Then earlier this morning, Wilkinson calls authorities, saying the same man is trying to break into his house again. Deputies respond to the scene, and a search takes place.

A neighbor then spots the suspect running back into Wilkinson’s home, where authorities are able to arrest the suspect.

Car Crashes into Utility Pole

Crews are working to clear the scene where a car crashed into a utility pole on Bruceville Road and Kammerer Road in Elk Grove.

It’s reported the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be fine.
