Dairy Expands Recall of Ice Cream Possibly Tainted with Listeriosis
Blue Bell Creameries has expanded its recall of products made at an Oklahoma plant after pints of banana pudding ice cream tested positive for listeriosis.
The Texas-based dairy company said Tuesday that no illnesses linked to those pints have been confirmed.
The Texas Rangers said Wednesday that they won’t offer Blue Bell at their upcoming homestand against the Houston Astros. The Astros previously said Blue Bell wouldn’t be offered on their opening day earlier this week.
The company last month issued the recall after ice cream contaminated with listeriosis was linked to three deaths at a Kansas hospital. The foodborne illness was tracked to a production line in Brenham, Texas, and later to a second line in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Operations have been suspended at the Oklahoma plant.
