According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than half of American adults are single. But when it comes to gender roles, single women face more negative stereotypes than men.

Take for instance, spinster and bachelor. The term spinster would make you think more of “Golden Girls” than “Sex in the City”. While bachelor, ignite images of successful and lively men like actors Leonardo DiCaprio or Michael Ealy.
