SACRAMENTO-

Three people were killed in a wrong-way crash along Interstate 80 at Madison Avenue early Tuesday morning.

The fiery crash happened around 12:30 a.m., according to the CHP, when a Ford F-150 hit a Lexus IS350 head-on in the westbound lanes.

Two men were believed to be in the Lexus. The men inside that car were later identified as 25-year-old Zahid Arshad, of South San Francisco, and 24-year-old Nicholas Sharma, of Hayward.

The identity of the truck driver has not been released. Authorities say the body of the drive was burned so badly they may have to use dental records to identify the person.

This is the fourth deadly wrong-way crash this year, the third in the past month.

In the past month, 11 people have been killed in the greater-Sacramento area because of wrong-way drivers. In the last calendar year, that number is 14.
