SACRAMENTO-

Fire crews in the Sacramento region responded to a handful of heat related calls Monday as the temperature rose to triple digits.

On the scene of a house fire off 35th Avenue on Monday afternoon,
Sac City firefighters along with Metro Fire crews could be seen subbing in and out, taking breaks from the heat.

"On a day like today, we have to take breaks" an on-scene public information officer told FOX40.

Despite the temperature reaching 105 degrees by mid-afternoon, the National Weather Service did not issue a red flag warning in the region.

A Cal Fire spokesperson said Monday that staff is more concerned about dry, windy days than hot, humid days.
