FOLSOM-

A child has died after being hit by a car near East Natoma Street and Cameron Drive in Folsom on Monday evening.

Calvin Suh, 11, was hit while trying to ride his bike across East Natoma Street.

Folsom police have shut down both streets for several hours as the investigation continued into the evening.

Suh was rushed to the hospital where he later died. He would have been a 7th grader at Folsom Middle School this upcoming school year.

"It's dangerous. This intersection is very blind. You have to pull out very far in your car, just to make sure that nobody's coming down," resident Haley Eldridge said.

In a neighborhood full of families and kids, the boy hit is someone Eldridge knows.

Police said they don't believe the driver was under the influence. For now, they are simply calling the crash a tragic accident.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Suh and his family.
