MANTECA-

The Manteca Police Department ended a long-term investigation on Tuesday when they arrested a man on child pornography charges, police said.

Earlier this year, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported finding a pornographic video of a girl believed to be less than 8 years old, police said. An investigation showed the video was uploaded in the Manteca area.

Detectives were able to locate the residence and served a search warrant on the 300 block of North Union Road on Tuesday.

Edward Bowden, 61, was arrested and detectives seized computers, cameras and digital storage devices, police said.

Hundreds of child pornography images were allegedly found during the search, police said. The ages of victims ranged from infants to teens.

The Department of Justice will conduct a thorough forensic search of the electronic equipment.

Bowden was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. His bail was set at $275,000.

Anyone with pertinent information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective Steve Schluer at 456-8101.
