EL DORADO COUNTY —

On July 4 around 11 p.m. deputies located several individuals allegedly shooting off illegal fireworks in the back of a house in the 3800 block of Tilden Drive.

A deputy and security officer were confronted by Evan Lyons, 29, of Orangevale. Lyons was confrontational, angry and clearly intoxicated, police said.

When asked questions about the scene, Lyons was uncooperative and verbally assaulted the officers, according to police.

Lyons was taken when an additional deputy arrived. During the arrest he resisted and once in the vehicle, he spit through the cage into the drivers space.

On the way to the jail, he yelled out profanities, racial slurs and threatened to harm the deputy’s family, according to police.

Lyons was booked at the El Dorado County Jail on charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer. He was later released on $79,000 bail.
