VALLEJO —

Vallejo and Oakland Police arrested two suspects, John Brumfield, 24, and Michael Jones, 24,  in connection with a child abduction earlier today.

The Vallejo Police Department received a phone call at 3:41 p.m., July 24, about a possible kidnapping on the 100 block of Boysen Street.

According to witnesses, Brumfield came into the residence and forcibly took a 3-month-old baby from the child’s grandfather. Brumfield handed the child over to Jones, who ran from the residence with the child.

Both suspects got into a car that was later tracked to Oakland. At 7:15 p.m., detectives located Brumfield and Jones walking to a Greyhound station in the area of 21st Street and San Pablo Street.

Both suspects were arrested on outstanding warrants for conspiracy and kidnapping.

The child was reunited with his mother in Vallejo.

Brumfield was in a relationship with the mother of the child, but is not the father. His reasons for the kidnapping are unknown.
