Crews Get a Handle on Fire Burning at South Sacramento Recycling Center

SOUTH SACRAMENTO —

A three-alarm fire at a recycling center sent a plume of black smoke into the sky on Tuesday afternoon. .

The fire started just after 4 p.m. at the Sierra Waste Recycling and Transfer Center near Berry Avenue and Power Inn Road.

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene and were expected to stay throughout the evening to put out any hot spots.
