SACRAMENTO --

So many Americans see the abortion debate as something that long ago devolved into not much more than a shouting match.

Tuesday, it literally became one, as Sacramento protesters shouted to be heard over music that Planned Parenthood was piping outside its 29th Street clinic.

But Tuesday, protesters say something there is different.

"You know, I think this is a tipping point in American history," said Wynette Sills, the Director of Californians for Life.

The new energy in protests against Planned Parenthood comes from a series of videos released by the Center for Medical Progress.  They are purportedly hidden-camera recordings of a Planned Parenthood doctor discussing the price of tissue harvested from an aborted fetus.

"I would say it's probably anywhere from $30 to $100," the woman says in one clip.

"They're gruesome. It’s sobering. They're hard to watch. But I think every American needs to see what really is happening," Sills said.

In a statement, Planned Parenthood President Kathy Kneer called the videos misleading, saying Planned Parenthood provides the fetal tissue with patient consent, within federal and state law and within medical ethics, like other major medical providers.

When a patient gives her consent for the tissue harvesting, FOX40 asked Sills why it’s important to prevent her from doing good with what was a hard choice.

"Well, there is no good in abortion. So let's be clear with that. Abortion hurts women, and abortion destroys a human life," she said.

Planned Parenthood says the tissue is used to find cures for diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer’s, ALS and Spina bifida.

Sills says the tissue is also used to look for cures to things like balding.
