VACAVILLE —

A 35-year-old Vacaville man was arrested Aug. 21 after deputies found out he was in possession of a stolen box truck during a family disturbance call.

Solano County Sheriff’s deputies received a phone call from a woman claiming that her son, Jacob Harris, was causing a disturbance in her home. The caller stated Harris made threats to fight law enforcement if they responded.

When deputies arrived to the residence in the 7400 block of Locke Road, they were met with Harris who was holding a hammer in a threatening manner. After repeatedly being told to drop the hammer, Harris put the weapon on the ground and immediately got into a fighting stance.

Deputies then tasered the suspect, allowing them to take him into custody without further incident.

During the investigation, deputies located a stolen box truck nearby. The truck had been reported to the West Sacramento Police Department as stolen during a burglary earlier that morning.

Harris was charged with the vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, exhibiting a deadly weapon and resisting a peace officer.
