ROSEVILLE —

A Roseville girl reported that she was approached and grabbed this morning by an unidentified man while she was walking on the Linda Creek trail en route to her junior high school.

At approximately 8:35 a.m., the girl was walking alone on the trail near Oak Ridge Drive when she noticed a man walking a distance behind her. She passed the portion of the trail that branches south toward Charleston Circle when the man grabbed her and touched her buttocks.

She shook the man off and ran to the Eich Middle School campus, where she immediately reported the incident to school officials, who notified the Roseville Police Department.

The young girl described the man as a 5-feet-9 Hispanic male in his 30’s or 40’s, weighing around 200 pounds. He had short black hair and heavy eyebrows, and, at the time of the incident, wore a black cotton crew neck t-shirt, knee length white athletic shorts with black stripes and black athletic shoes with white and blue trim. He did not have a mustache, but may have had light stubble on his cheeks.

In response to the incident, Roseville Police is increasing patrol in that area before and after school.
