Things are heating up on FOX’s “Gotham.”

Monday night, we see the beginnings of another villain’s origin – Firefly, the notorious arsonist.

The show’s producers describe Bridgit Pike as being controlled by her fire-starting siblings.

“We decided to make Firefly a woman because we wanted to describe how even a warm, loving and compassionate person can turn to the dark side when life pushes him or her that way,” show creator Bruno Heller says. “She’s not driven by testosterone-fueled aggression, but by a burning sense of injustice. Michelle Veintimilla brings warmth and vulnerability to the role that conceals a steely core of strength and courage.”

Meet Bridgit on Gotham, airing Mondays at 8 p.m. on FOX40.
