DIAMOND SPRINGS–

Detectives have released surveillance images of a Friday bank robbery in Diamond Springs.

According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, a man walked into the El Dorado Savings Bank branch on Pleasant Valley Road around 6 p.m., as staff members were closing up for the night.

The man, detectives say, claimed to have a gun and demanded money. After “arguing” for a short time, the man took cash from a teller and took off running down Pleasant Valley Road.

Investigators describe the suspect as a white male adult, between 25 and 28 years old, about 5-feet-8-inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He had curly, sandy blonde hair and wore a blue knitted cap and scarf, a dark winter jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Detectives say he apparently had a hard time with the “S” sound while speaking.

Anyone with information is about the robbery is asked to contact the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 621-4703.
