FAIRFIELD —

A man is visiting homes in the Fairfield and Cordelia areas claiming to be a representative of the Fire Department in attempts to access homes, according to the Vallejo Fire Department.

A Fairfield resident posted on the fire department’s Facebook page reporting that a man dressed in plain clothes and carrying a dark colored bag knocked on her mother’s door saying he was there to board up a house fire. The woman was able to grab a photo of the man’s vehicle as well as his license plate number (4NWD756).

The department is urging residents to be wary of anyone coming to homes in plain clothes, because they do not make unannounced visits to any home out of uniform. If you experience anything similar, call 911 immediately and report it.
