Arrest Made After Body Found in Slough Near Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG —

A man has been arrested in connection to murder after a body was found near a slough south of Clarksburg.

About 11:25 a.m. Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the area of Jefferson Boulevard and Courtland Road after a fisherman discovered the body of a man. The body was identified as Andrew Phaouthoum, 21, of Sacramento.

Investigators determined that Phaothoum was killed by a gunshot.

On Tuesday, detectives served a search warrant on the 4500 block of East Ryer Road in Solano County.

Jorge Garcia, 22, of Walnut Grove, was taken into custody and booked into the Yolo County Jail on murder charges.

The investigation is on-going and detectives are still looking into a possible motive.
