Patterson Deputy Delivers Baby in Parking Lot of Police Services Building

PATTERSON —

Thursday morning started off a little differently for one Patterson deputy.

Deputy Briggs arrived in the back parking lot of Patterson Police Services and was stopped by a man and woman in a vehicle.

The woman was in labor.

Briggs called for an ambulance and fire crew to respond.

While waiting for emergency responders to arrive, Briggs helped the mother deliver a baby boy,

Fire crews arrived on scene and checked the health of the baby and mother. They were transported to a local hospital for additional care.
