Highway 50 Through Sierra Reopens After Avalanche Controls

EL DORADO COUNTY —

Highway 50 has reopened after Caltrans completed avalanche control in several areas between Echo Summit and Twin Bridges on Monday evening.

There is still heavy stop-and-go traffic from just past Placerville all the way into Tahoe, according to traffic management.

Caltrans says chain controls remain in effect over Echo Summit.
