SANTEE, Calif. (AP) — Gusty winds may have caused a tree to topple onto a father and his 5-year-old daughter at a Southern California playground.
KNSD-TV reports that the tree came down shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Big Rock Park in Santee.
Witnesses told San Diego County sheriff’s deputies that the man pushed the child out of the way as the tree fell.
It landed on the man. He and his daughter escaped with only minor injuries and were treated at a hospital.
