Four People Rescued After Getting Stuck in Rural Nevada County Creek

NEVADA COUNTY —

Cal Fire crews were trying to rescue a group of people who tried to cross a creek in rural Nevada County on Sunday night.

Two of the four people were able to make it to the shore of a creek near Red Dog and You Bet roads northeast of Grass Valley. Cal Fire said the other two people were still in the water.

A swift water rescue tram suited up and were able to rescue the other two people.

All four victims were transported to the hospital for medical evaluations. They were treated for early stages of hypothermia, officials said.

Rain was heavy in the area Sunday night.
