SANTA ANA–

One of the three inmates who has escaped from the Orange County Men’s Central Jail has been captured, a Santa Ana Police Department spokesman said on Friday.

Bac Duong, 37, was taken into custody one week after he and two other inmates, 37-year-old Hossein Nayeri and 20-year-old Jonathan Tieu, broke out of the Santa Ana facility, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna confirmed to KTLA around noon.

He did not have any details about where Duong was taken into custody, or which agency was responsible.

Less than two hours before Duong’s capture was announced, Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said authorities felt “very strongly” that the escapees, considered armed and dangerous, were still in the Southern California area.
