SACRAMENTO–

A man has been arrested after a homicide near Earl Warren Park Friday around 12:20 p.m.

Homicide and crime scene investigators blocked off Emerson Road at Fruitridge Road, east of the 65th Street Expressway Friday afternoon.

Police say Ronald Montez, 52, drove himself to the hospital with stab wounds and said there was another injured person in front of a house in the area. Officers said they arrived to find a body under a tarp in a driveway.

Investigators said there were signs of some sort of confrontation inside the home.

Once Montez was released from the hospital he was interviewed and booked into the Sacramento Main County Jail for murder.

The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Arthur Rodriguez. A motive has not been determined yet.
