A Madera man was arrested Saturday for a March 19 CVS robbery where police say he disguised himself as a woman with a baby stroller.
Police say Joseph Marshall was hiding merchandise in a baby stroller when a CVS employee saw him. When the employee asked him to return the items, Marshall allegedly threatened to stab the employee with a screwdriver. After the employee backed down, investigators say Marshall escaped the store with the merchandise.
The CVS employee allegedly recognized Marshall as a frequent thief who was previously banned from the store. Madera Police detectives were able to find and arrest Marshall after identifying him in the store’s surveillance video footage.
Police said because Marshall forcefully threatened the employee to carry out his theft, he is charged for a felony rather than a misdemeanor.
Marshall is currently in the Madera County Jail on charges of robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
