Philip Ingram, the man accused of hitting and killing two Auburn teens walking along Highway 49 appeared in court Tuesday, facing a judge and the victims’ families.

Ingram’s official arraignment was delayed until Thursday after the judge expressed concern that Ingram couldn’t hear or understand his rights, but he faces two counts of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence and hit and run. His attorney initially entered a not guilty plea before the arraignment was postponed.

The families of both victims, Trevor Keller and Jared Gaches, were also in court.
