CHP Investigating Deadly Wrong-Way Crash in Stockton

STOCKTON —

The California Highway Patrol investigated a deadly wrong-way crash that happened on Alpine Road just north of Highway 88.

The CHP says a Lincoln was headed northbound on Alpine Road at a high rate of speed. A Ford pickup was headed southbound traveling 40 mph.

The Lincoln veered into southbound traffic and hit the Ford pickup head on.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was killed. He has been identified as a 20-year-old male.

The driver of the pickup had minor injuries.

The CHP says alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
