FAIRFIELD -- Take a good look -- Fairfield police have released pictures of a man they say is armed, dangerous and wanted, after a midday shootout in a busy strip mall.

"There was a guy in a plaid shirt running away from another big buff guy. And he turned around and just shot the dude. Dude fell to the ground. Then he got in his Lexus and just drove away," Philomena Wothe, who witnessed the incident, said.

The Lexus raced away, leaving two people down with gunshot wounds and a parking lot littered with shell casings.

"It was real, but really unreal, you know?" Wothe said.

Witnesses said one man was inside the liquor store. Another man who he had trouble with in the past was outside. So he came out blasting, and the other man returned fire.

One of them was hit, a 20-year-old from OIivehurst who remains in critical condition.

But an innocent bystander was struck as well. A 44-year-old man from Fairfield, who's suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
