YUBA CITY -- Hail hit hard in some Yuba City neighborhoods turning the ground into fields of quarter-sized hail.

It sent some neighbors for cover, and others like Chris Brown running for their cell phone cameras. He captured video of the hail as it battered his backyard for about 45 minutes.

Three hours into the melt, he was still able to pick gumball-sized hail out of his yard. However, the roof of his RV is the real proof of how hard and fast the hail came.

About 15 minutes away, orchards full of fallen leaves and hail indicate major crop damage.

Efrain Garcia was working on a house when the storm hit and says everyone else in the area ran away.
