RANCHO CORDOVA -- It began as many break-ins do: a burglar shatters a glass door and makes his way into a business, but things got unusual overnight Tuesday at Metro City Soccer in Rancho Cordova.
"I've seen some bizarre things but in my entire lifetime I've never seen anything like this," said Owner Robert Mills.
Mills shared surveillance video from early Tuesday morning, showing some strange behavior from a bare-skinned intruder.
"If somebody's gonna break in, immediately you think he's gonna steal something, do something really bad. He didn't do anything really bad," Mills said.
In the video, you can see the burglar had a sweat shirt around his waist. He quickly took that off and got to work in the buff.
"Certainly, being naked is odd, but what was more odd for me is to see him sweep up the mess that he made," said Mills.
Police say the careful criminal is 28-year-old Timothy Prather.
The naked burglar spent over an hour cleaning up the mess he made. Then he had a beer and some candy before getting caught.
Aside from the broken glass, missing alcohol and stolen snacks, it appeared Prather wasn't there to steal or destroy property.
Mills was there as police arrived. He says he watched the suspect crawl through the broken glass door and into police custody.
"If he has a history of mental illness, I hope he can get help," said Mills.
Instead of being angry Mills felt bad and gave Prather a T-shirt so he didn't have to go to jail completely nude.
Prather was arrested for burglary and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on $80,000 bail.
He's scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
